RAU held a public lecture of Dr. Abel Aganbegyan
On September 30th at the House of Culture of the Russian-Armenian University a public lecture by the eminent scientist, economist, academician Abel Aganbegyan was held. The topic of the lecture was "Problems of growth of the Armenian economy: the third generation of reforms to improve the investment climate and prospects for development."
During his speech Mr. Aganbegyan drew special attention of the audience upon the task and target indices of Armenia. Abel Aganbegyan highlighted the need to significantly increase the export of goods, to raise the share of industry to 30%, and increase the level of employment. The speaker identified 11 clusters, in which Armenia has certain advantages, in particular, information technology, a copper-molybdenum ore, the chemical cluster, energy, tourism and industry, etc.
It should be mentioned that Dr. Abel Aganbegyan is a scientist, economist, doctor of economic sciences, pofessor, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences, Honorary Doctor of the Russian-Armenian University, Honorary President of the International Economic Association, Honorary Member of the International Econometric Society, a foreign member of the Bulgarian and Hungarian Academy of Sciences, corresponding member British Academy of Sciences, Honorary doctor of the University of Lodz (Poland), Alicante (Spain), Honorary doctor of the Higher school of Civil servants in Barcelona (ESERP), California state University (Hayward) and Seoul (South Korea), Honorary "doctor business administration", Kingston University (United Kingdom) and other countries.
Public lectures of Dr. Aganbegyan were held in Russian-Armenian University within the framework of events dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the University.
