Tempus PEOPLE Project

 

HRM Trainings took place in Portugal and Spain

 

In the framework of TEMPUS PEOPLE Project (Promoting Educational Organization Through People) two trainings in human resources management (HRM) took place in Portugal and Spain during October-November 2014:
  • October 27-31 – first training, Instituto Superior Technico (Lisboa, Portugal);
  • November 17-22 – second training, Technical University of Catalonia (Barcelona, Spain).
 
There are 3 partner Universities participating in the project: Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE), American University of Armenia (AUA) and Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University (RAU).
RAU was represented by local coordinator of the project in RAU Ms. Liana Aghajanyan, the Head of Quality Control Service of RAU Ms. Marina Khachatryan, assistant to Rector of RAU Mr. David Yeramyan.
 
Both trainings were designed for HRM staff (training for trainers). During the trainings all the participants from partner countries had the opportunity to meet with HR Managers of the above mentioned Universities, to have discussions on the following topics: Performance Evaluation, Recruitment Processes, Teamwork and Cooperation, Negotiation and Persuasion, Leadership and People management, Change management, Intranet for People Management and so on.
 
Before the trainings in Lisbon and Spain the representatives of our European partner countries had already carried out a HR processes and procedures audit in order to find out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats we are currently facing and secondly, carried out training needs detection throughout a map of competencies on HR in Higher Education Institutions.
 
Issues, concerning future coordination of the project and cooperation with partners were also discussed during the trainings.
 
TEMPUS PEOPLE project started in January, 2014. The main objective of the project is to reinforce top and middle managers of higher education institutions competencies by developing a human resource management and staff development strategy focusing the challenges the economic transition process of the partner countries and globalization are impacting higher education institutions.
