Visiting Professors Lecture on Medical Technology and Computed Tomography
On December 8, Russian-Armenian University hosted public lectures on "Trends in Medical Technology and BME Education in Europe" by Prof. Pallikarakis (University of Patras, Greece) and "Basics of the Computerd Tomography" by Prof. Guliev (Technical University of Varna, Bulgaria). The lectures were organized within the scope of Tempus BME ENA (Biomedical Engineering Education Tempus Initiative in Eastern Neighbouring Area).
The lecture Basics of the Computerd Tomography aimed to provide basic knowledge on the topic for the wide audience (undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate students and teachers), while they also showed an example on how in-house developed MATLAB code, animations and virtual experiments can be implemented to illustrate mathematical expressions and transforms, which are often not immediately taken in by students.
Prof. Pallikarakis during his talk Trends in Medical Technology and BME Education in Europe shared the 25-year experience of University of Patras, a M.Sc. program in BME, an attractive and efficient international course (for both teachers and students). The lectures generated lots of questions and resulted in a small discussion afterwards.
