Celebrating the Chinese New Year at RAU Chinese Language and Culture Center

On February 13, RAU students and lecturers celebrated the Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival at RAU Chinese Language and Culture Center (Institute of Humanities).

Among the event’s honorable guests was the Consul of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Armenia, Mr. Wang Feng.

During the Chinese New Year celebration, the participants learned a lot about the holiday itself, as well as the culture and traditions of China. As the organizers highlighted, in China the New Year is associated with spring, the awakening of nature and the start of planting season. It is considered the most cherished holiday and it is the longest one, too: the celebrations go on for fifteen days. This year, the celebration of the New Year in China will begin on 16 February.
