RAU Young Professionals Participated in a Training “Current Trends in Medical Technology” in Greece
On February 16-18, in Patras, Greece the delegation of Russian-Armenian University (RAU) comprising of young professionals Mr. Hovakim Grabsky, Mr. Gari Chilingaryan, Ms. Shushanik Kazaryan and Mr. Lernika Unanyan (Ph.D.) participated in a training on "Current trends in Medical Tecnology" for young academic staff, organized in the scope of the ongoing Tempus project Biomedical Engineering Education Tempus Initiative in Eastern Neighbouring Area (BME ENA). The delegation was lead by Prof. Hrachik Vardapetyan, The Head of RAU Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biotechnology, who is also the project coordinator on behalf of RAU.
The training was organized by the BME ENA project coordinator, University of Patras. It gathered specialists from Italy, UK, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and others. Distinguished professors from the European partner universities presented the new trends and the latest achievements in the Medical Technology sector (Imaging, Robotics, Telemedicine, etc). The participants talked through a wide range of issues, namely, new methods for cancer treatment, Living Lab technologies and many more. The agenda of the training can be found here.
The members of the RAU delegation shared that the training was a great platform to exchange knowledge and experience and to establish useful contacts with partner institutions.
Biomedical Engineering is rapidly developing and we need to be actively involved in meetings like this to keep up with the developments and trends in the field. It is also a way to integrate into the global scientific community”, highlighted Ms. Shushanik Kazaryan, member of RAU delegation. “Besides participating in the training, we also discussed organizational issues, as Russian-Armenian University with the support of Tempus BME ENA now implements a new Masters program Biomedical Engineering”.
