On November 22-23, representatives from Russian-Armenian University participated in the first Consortium meeting of the ERASMUS+ "Reforming Master Programmes in Finance in Armenia and Moldova" (REFINE) project, which took place in Vienna, Austria.

There, local project coordinator from RAU, Head of Department of Economics and Finance at RAU Institute of Economics and Business, Dr. Mariam Voskanyan, and project's administrative assistant Ani Galstyan, Ph.D. student at RAU Department of Economics and Finance, together with colleagues discussed the project’s nine objectives and designed a working plan for the next year.

As a result of the meeting, RAU outlined the main tasks needed to improve the existing Master's program Financial Economics: to enhance the quality of the Master's program Financial Economics; to reorganize and improve the program; to develop new academic disciplines with the assistance of partner universities from the EU; to upgrade the qualifications of the academic staff of the program.

The wider objective of the project ERASMUS+ "Reforming Master Programmes in Finance in Armenia and Moldova" (REFINE) is to enhance the quality and relevance of the six existing Master (MA) programmes in Finance in Armenia and Moldova through targeted reforms. The project relies on studies that have identified a need for reforms in contents, teaching methodologies and the labour market relevance of study programmes. Finance was chosen as a field that plays a crucial role in economic development, while skilled graduates in the field are coveted by both the business community and the public sector.
