RAU delegation visited Aston University in the scope of Erasmus+ Harmony project

On 4-6 May 2016 Ms. Suzanna Shamakhyan, Head of Department of International Cooperation and Ms. Veronika Aghajanyan, Leading Specialist on international projects of the same Department had a study visit to Aston University.

A series of talks, meetings and workshops were held at the University for 27 representatives from the consortium running the Harmony project.

The workshop included sessions delivered by the Research Enterprise Office, the Careers + Placements Centre and the Centre for Learning Innovation and Professional Practice (CLIPP), to showcase what internationalisation looks like at Aston University. Internationalisation is a key feature of the UK Higher Education agenda, representing the preparation of all UK graduates to live in, and contribute responsibly to, a globally connected society.

In the scope of the workshop RAU and Aston Univeristy have presented the Quality Control Plan of the project as co-leaders of the Working Package on Quality control.

Running for three years, the Harmony project’s focus is to improve the development of approaches to the harmonisation of internationalisation strategies in Higher Education, research and innovation in EU countries and Armenia, Belarus and Russia.

Participating in the initiative alongside RAU are the University of Seville (coordinator), Aston Univerisity, Sapienza University of Rome, Kassel University, Instituto Politécnico de Tomar, Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Eurasia International University, Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, Belarusian State University, Belarusian Trade and Economics University of Consumer Cooperatives, Voronezh State University, Southern Federal University, Penza State University. The Ministries of Education in Armenia, Belarus and Russian as well as the International Centre for innovation in Science, Technology and Education (ICISTE) in Russia are also involved.

The project is funded through the Erasmus+ Key Action 2: Cooperation for Innovation and Exchange of Good Practices programme, which focuses on enabling organisations to work together on sharing, developing and transferring innovative practices in education between different countries.

The coordinator of the project at RAU is Ms. Suzanna Shamakhyan, Head of Department of International Cooperation.
