Cross-cultural Communication and the Issues of Tolerance
 
On October 6-7, the International conference Cross-cultural Communication and the Issues of Tolerance (interdisciplinary approach) took place at Russian-Armenian University. 
 
"The conference is a result of a fruitful cooperation between three RAU Departments", said Prof. Armine Simonyan, Head of RAU Department of Theory of Language and Cross-cultural Communication, "Language, cognition and culture are so tightly interconnected that one can hardly develop without the other". 
 
Conference participants discussed a wide range of issues - tolerance and intolerance in political communication, ethnic identity and tolerance in education, diasporal identity, teaching foreign languages via tolerance, distance learning as an intercultural dialogue and much more. The conference included 3 sessions: "Tolerance and Dialogue between Cultures in Modern Times", "Personal Identity and Moral Values in Cross-cultural Communication" and "Interethnic Tolerance: Challenges of Globalization". 
 
The conference Cross-cultural Communication and the Issues of Tolerance (interdisciplinary approach) was organized jointly by Department of Theory of Language and Cross-cultural Communication, Department of Psychology and Department of Philosophy.
